How the Japan Ministry Tool Box Began

Hello! I'm Gary, and I've been a missionary to Japan along with my wife since 1988 with Asian Access. The idea for the Japan Ministry Tool Box all started in December 1999 when we saw there was a need for a new bilingual Christmas songbook. We knew such a tool could be used for English Bible classes, international churches, church choirs and caroling groups, so we decided to produce one. When our first printing of The Caroling Collection sold out within one month of its release in October 2000, we realized we were now publishers. In 2001, we added more songs and printed a revised edition.

In June of 2002, we released the first edition of Discovering the Joy of Parenting, a bilingual leaders guide that my wife and her Japanese ministry partner developed during the course of seven years of parenting classes.

In the fall of 2002, after many requests for a demonstration recording of the songs in The Caroling Collection songbook, we released The Caroling Collection CD.

Since then, we have added various other bilingual Japanese/English tools to help with ministries to the Japanese. Among these additional materials, the most widely used have been the English Bible Class texts developed over the past 25 years by Dee Wirz.

Although the majority of the materials we carry are being used within Japan, some of our resources are now being used in such diverse places as Australia, the USA, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
