How the Japan Ministry Tool Box Began
Hi, my name is Gary Bauman, and I've been a missionary to Japan along with my wife since 1988. The idea for Japan Ministry Tool Box all started in December 1999 when we saw there was a need for a new bilingual Christmas songbook. We knew such a tool could be used by caroling groups, for English class Christmas outreaches, and by international churches, so we decided to take a leap of faith and produce one. When our first printing of The Caroling Collection sold out in one month following its release in October 2000, we realized we had suddenly become publishers. For 2001, we added more songs and printed a revised edition.
In June of 2002, we released the first edition of my wife's Discovering the Joy of Parenting, a bilingual leaders guide that developed out of seven years of parenting classes.
In the fall of 2002, after many requests for a demonstration recording of the songs in The Caroling Collection, we released the The Caroling Collection CD.
During the following years, in addition to going through additional printings with these initial resources, we have added various other bilingual Japanese/English tools to help with ministries to the Japanese. The most popular among these additional materials has been the English Bible Class texts by Dee Wirz.
Although the majority of the materials we carry are being used within Japan, some of our resources are now being used in such diverse places as Australia, the USA, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
